New construction underlayment per IRC R905 and ASTM D226 (felt) or ASTM D6757 (synthetic). Ice barrier per ASTM D1970 required at eaves in climate zones with average January temperature below 25°F. We install ice and water shield regardless. It's cheap insurance against ice dams and wind-driven rain. Drip edge per IRC R905.2.8.5 on eave and rake edges. Proper starter strip with factory sealant for wind resistance from day one.

Standing seam metal with Kynar 500 PVDF fluoropolymer finish. The gold standard for color retention and chalk resistance. We install Sheffield Metals and McElroy Metal panels in 24-gauge Galvalume steel. UL 2218 Class 4 impact resistance (qualifies for insurance discounts in most Louisiana markets). UL 790 Class A fire rating. Wind uplift rated to 140+ mph per ASTM E1592 testing. Concealed Z-clips allow thermal expansion without stress on fasteners. That's what makes standing seam leak-proof.

Flat Roofing
TPO single-ply membrane in 60-mil or 80-mil thickness, fully adhered or mechanically attached over minimum R-25 polyiso insulation. Hot-air welded seams tested with a probe at every joint. We install per NRCA and manufacturer specifications with tapered ISO insulation creating minimum 1/4" per foot positive drainage. Ponding water is the number one cause of flat roof failure in Fort Polk. Tapered insulation eliminates it. FM 4473 rated systems available for hail-prone areas. Fully warranted by Carlisle, Firestone, or GAF.

Gutter Installation
Half-round copper gutters with round downspouts are the premium install for historic and high-end homes in Fort Polk. We solder every joint on-site with 50/50 tin-lead solder. Copper weathers to a green patina in Louisiana's climate over 5-7 years.
